An employee who is absent from work due to the death of an immediate family may be granted a maximum of 5 sick days. An immediate family member is defined as a parent, grandparent, parent-in-law, spouse, children, stepchildren, grandchildren, sibling, aunt or uncle.
Effective July 1, 2024 employees in the Unions listed below will receive one bereavement day. The bereavement day will be used before an employee’s use of sick days. Each year thereafter the one bereavement day will be available on January 1st. The day does not accumulate and unused time will not be carried over or paid out upon separation.

The employee must provide a copy of one of the following: funeral/memorial program, obituary, etc. via a time off request in Workday.
